Welcome to GoCar Hungary. By renting a vehicle from us or using our website https://gocarhungary.com, you agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking. These terms apply to all car rentals made through GoCar Hungary across the territory of Hungary.
1. General Information
GoCar Hungary provides car rental services to individuals aged 21 and above who hold a valid driving license. All rentals are subject to availability, and GoCar Hungary reserves the right to refuse service in cases of incomplete or false information, unsafe driving history, or failure to meet rental requirements.
2. Booking and Payment
Bookings can be made online via our website or directly through our support team. To confirm a reservation, you must provide valid identification and a payment method (debit card, credit card, or cash). We accept debit cards and cash payments – no credit card is required for most vehicles, depending on the category and deposit policy.
Full payment or a partial prepayment may be required at the time of booking. All prices include basic insurance, local taxes, and standard mileage limits, unless otherwise specified.
3. Deposit and Security
A refundable security deposit may apply depending on the car type, rental duration, and payment method. Deposits are fully refunded upon vehicle return, provided there is no damage, missing fuel, or violation of contract terms. The amount of the deposit is communicated clearly during booking and listed in your rental agreement.
4. Driver Requirements
To rent a car with GoCar Hungary, the driver must:
- Be at least 21 years old (some vehicles may require 25+)
- Hold a valid driving license for at least 1 year
- Provide an identity document (passport or ID card)
- Be listed as an authorized driver in the rental agreement
Additional drivers must be declared at the time of booking and may be subject to an extra fee.
5. Vehicle Pickup and Return
Cars can be picked up at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD), city locations, or other agreed places. The vehicle must be returned at the specified time and place stated in your rental contract. Late returns may incur additional charges. Vehicles should be returned in the same condition and with the same fuel level as received.
6. Insurance and Liability
All GoCar Hungary vehicles are insured with standard liability and collision coverage (CDW). Optional upgrades to Super CDW or full coverage may be available at the time of rental. The renter is responsible for any damage or loss not covered by insurance, as well as for traffic fines or parking violations incurred during the rental period.
7. Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your booking at any time. Free cancellation applies if made at least 48 hours before the rental start. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a partial fee. No-shows without notice are charged 100% of the rental cost.
8. Use of the Vehicle
The rented car must be used in accordance with Hungarian traffic laws. It is strictly prohibited to:
- Use the vehicle for racing, towing, or off-road driving
- Allow unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle
- Drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Leave the vehicle unattended with keys inside
Violating these rules may result in contract termination and loss of deposit or insurance coverage.
9. Fuel Policy
All vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned full unless otherwise agreed. Missing fuel will be charged at local rates plus a service fee.
10. Maintenance and Breakdowns
GoCar Hungary ensures all vehicles are regularly serviced and in excellent condition. In case of a breakdown or accident, contact our 24/7 support immediately. Unauthorized repairs are not allowed without prior approval.
11. Responsibility and Limitations
GoCar Hungary is not responsible for lost or forgotten personal belongings in the vehicle, traffic delays, or external events such as weather conditions or road closures. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages resulting from vehicle use or mechanical failure.
12. Data Privacy
All personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and EU GDPR regulations. We only use your data for legitimate business purposes and do not share it with unauthorized third parties.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Hungarian law. Any disputes arising under this agreement shall be resolved in the competent courts of Budapest, Hungary.
